New Recruiting Schedule
The MFA Acting program will be transitioning to alternate-year recruiting and will not be recruiting a class of MFA candidates for Fall 2023.
SUBMITTING
To apply to the M.F.A. program in Acting, a completed application and a fee of $135 for U.S. Citizens and lawful U.S. Permanent Residents, and $155 for all other applicants, is required. All graduate applications are submitted electronically and must be supported by appropriate academic transcripts (one official transcript per college/university attended) and three letters of recommendation.
Submission of the Statement of Purpose is mandatory. Submission of the Personal History Statement is optional. The Department of Drama has no word/character minimum or maximum length requirements for these statements.
Please know that if you are also applying for a application fee waiver that this will add to the processing time of your application and delay the speed at which you hear from our department to schedule your audition.
TRANSCRIPTS
Unofficial transcripts from each college or university attended should be uploaded to the graduate application in Slate.
Official transcripts will only need to be provided by those candidates offered acceptance to the program.
Letters of recommendation should also be uploaded to the graduate application.
Please visit the Graduate Division website for additional information.”
TESTING
For Acting applicants, the GRE exam is not required. For those international applicants that are required to take the TOEFL test to measure English language proficiency, a minimum score of 80 is considered passing. To be eligible to receive a teaching assistantship, a minimum score on the speaking portion of 26 is required.
